The MBE is well deserved and its good to see that fellow sportsman Lewis Hamilton was also able to pick an MBE up at this years awards.
Olympic hero Chris Hoy had two reasons to celebrate after being knighted in the New Year Honours List - while his mother became an MBE.
The cyclist was honoured after winning three gold medals at the Beijing Games to become Scotland’s greatest Olympian.
